Extreme Hot Weather – Advice for schools and childcare settings Advice is being provided to schools and childcare settings to deal with the extreme heat, including avoiding vigorous physical activity and maximising shade and ventilation. Children should wear loose, light coloured clothing if possible and wear hats outdoors. Be alert of the met office weather warnings: Be aware of the air pollution indicator https://airquality.gov.wales/ ; Follow Public Health Wales advice Prevention, signs, symptoms and treatment for heat exhaustion and heatstroke – NHS

Plans for 23 new Welsh-medium primary schools to be created Local authorities across Wales are finalising their Welsh Education Strategic Plans (WESPs), which set out how they plan to grow Welsh-medium education in their areas over the next 10 years. Remember that you can use the reports generated by the personalised assessment system to help with planning next steps. The webinars on the system can help you consider  how to use the information in the reports.

Important MIS reminder for schools

Remember, whenever you update your MIS, the data for learners who have left your school will transfer to their new school and you will no longer have access to it.

If you wish to access reports for learners soon to leave your school e.g. Year 6 learners transferring to secondary school, please ensure you do so before your MIS is updated

Into Film Awards Welsh winners

Congratulations to Jemma Evans, from Penybont Primary School in Bridgend, Wales, who has been awarded Teacher of the Year at the 2022 Into Film Awards. The award was presented by actor Celyn Jones and TikTok star Monica Geldart. Congratulations to Eden Quine-Taylor, aged 18, from Crickhowell in Wales, who won the Ones to Watch award at the 2022 Into Film Awards. The award was presented by actor Samuel Adewunmi.
