Updates to the Curriculum for Wales Guidance, 11th January 2022 – a Summary Changes to the Curriculum for Wales Guidance, as trailed in a previous blog item, have now been made, either in response to consultation feedback or legislation being passed in the Senedd.
National Network for Curriculum Implementation After the success of the Autumn 2021 National Network Conversations there is another opportunity for leaders and practitioners to help inform, plan, collaborate and facilitate the conversations for Spring 2022. Ordering LFTs Schools are reminded to order LFTs on behalf of staff and learners online via gov.uk. This includes primary schools who can now order tests to support the daily testing of any primary pupil aged 5 or older identified as a close contact whose parent or guardian choose to take up this option and cannot access tests elsewhere. Education COVID asset bank Education COVID assets around behaviours and guidance have been updated on the asset bank in line with recent changes to testing and self-isolation guidance. Survey for parents/carers, children and young people: Reform of the School Day As part of our Programme for Government we are seeking views on changes to the length of the school day and school year. We are eager to hear from parents, carers, children and young people. We’ve worked with Parentkind and Child Poverty Action Group to put a short survey together. New Children’s Commissioner for Wales announced The First Minister has announced the appointment of Rocio Cifuentes as the new Children’s Commissioner for Wales. Ms Cifuentes will take up the position in April 2022 when Sally Holland’s tenure as Commissioner ends. Written statement
