REST Winter Ball

On the evening of Friday 3 November, Laura from Apollo Cwmbran went to the REST Winter Ball in the Augusta Suite at the Celtic Manor Hotel. REST Repatriation Services Trust was set up to provide guidance, support and financial aid to help the families of those who have died abroad bring their loved ones home.

REST was set up by the Bassett family after Tom Bassett was killed by a drunk driver while on holiday in Dubai in April. At 30 years old, Tom was a frequent traveller. Even though he had full insurance, the family struggled to fund everything they needed to bring him home. REST plans to help families across Wales, but needs as much support as possible to get them started.

Lee, the Sales Director of Apollo Teaching Services was a friend of Tom’s. Lee remembers working with Tom in the gym while he completed work experience, and teaching Tom to drive. Stacey, Tom’s partner, is a teacher who works for our Cwmbran office. Laura, from Apollo Cwmbran said:

‘We went to the ball to support Stacey, a hardworking and wonderful teacher who works for us in Cwmbran. The venue was beautifully decorated and it was a fitting tribute to someone who clearly touched so many lives.’
