Quick Reads in Wales Launch 2019

Quick Reads in Wales are a set of books aiming to encourage everyone to pick up a book and start reading.

Now in its 13th year, there are over 101 Quick Reads titles, and 48 of these are in Welsh. These short, sharp and interesting books are suitable for all readers and are an excellent way to fall back in love with books.

Kirsty Williams AM, opened the launch at the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay yesterday afternoon, and spoke alongside authors and sports stars featured in the books. The launch was a brilliant celebration of reading, and a fantastic way to introduce the 4 new titles for 2019.

This year’s titles cover a range of subjects from music to farming, and sports triumphs and goals.

The English books are called ‘Music to Make Friends By’ written by Hayley Long, and ‘Reset Your Goals’ by Jos Andrews.

The Welsh titles are ‘Wil ac Aeron’ by Heulwen Davies and ‘Y Goliau A’r Dagrau Stori Tash Harding’ by Dylan Ebeneezer.

These books are available for £1 each, or can be borrowed from the library.

We’d really like to encourage our readers, schools and staff to take a look at the Quick Reads project, and if you have any resistant readers in your house hold, please point them in the direction of these fantastic books! At under 100 pages each, they’re bound to catch their attention.
