Anti Bullying Week 2017 – The importance of being kind

This week is Anti-Bullying Week 2017, and Monday was #worldkindnessday. One of the aims of the Anti-Bullying Week campaign is to help children and young people understand how important it is that every child feels valued, and able to be themselves without worrying about bullying. At a time when social media makes it very easy for young people to make unkind comments and not see the repercussions, we want to stress the importance of being kind.

Here are some of our favourite kindness quotes. We hope they’ll inspire you to make someone smile at least once this week.

‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.’ Aesop

‘We rise by lifting others.’ Robert Ingersoll

‘Kind people are my kind of people.’

‘Do the right thing, even when no one is looking.’

‘How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it.’ George Elliston

And here is my very favourite from the whoopsy-whiffling children’s author, Roald Dahl:

‘If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sun beams and you will always look lovely.’
