Well, September is here and it already feels as though the Summer was months ago!
We hope you all had a wonderful Summer break, with time to relax and prepare for the new academic year ahead, as well as time to do lots of fun activities and make the most of time away from the classroom.
At Apollo Teaching Services we’re already back into the swing of things, and we’re very excited for the new year!
Here’s a quick overview of everything that happened in the Apollo world over the Summer, and what we’ve got coming up:
Our next training sessions will be during October half term and we already have a Cover Supervisor and First Aid Training session available. To book onto our sessions please head over to our training site.
We’ve got lots more training sessions in the pipeline for this year, and we’re looking forward to improving and enhancing our current offering.
At the end of July, the Apollo Teaching Services team were delighted to sponsor the ‘Teacher/Mentor of the Year’ category at the Bridge FM Local Hero Awards. It was a fantastic evening, celebrating the very best members of society and we were incredibly proud to present Andrew Rees with the award!
You can read all about the awards and see a full list of winners here.
On Friday 13th September Apollo Teaching Services will be attending the Bridgend Business Forum awards as finalists in two categories: ‘Professional Services Business of the Year 2019’ and the ‘Service Business of the Year 2019’.
On Wednesday 18th September we are finalists in the Welsh cohort of the Nat West Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, in the ‘Entrepreneurs’ Team of the Year’ category and the ‘Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year’ category.
To take a look at last year’s achievements, please head over to our website.
If you follow our Social Media channels you will have seen that several of our Consultants took part in the ‘Pillow to PC 100 Mile Challenge’ in August to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, in memory of Will’s dad who sadly passed away earlier this year. The challenge really did push Will and Jon to their limits, and we are extremely proud of them and everyone who helped them over the course of the week. In total, they managed to raise a staggering £1,877!
If you missed it, you can read all about their challenge here.
One of our Bridgend Teaching Assistant’s got in touch to tell us that she had ‘Braved the Shave’ over the Summer – congratulations Kim!
You can read about Kim’s achievement here.
Every week throughout August we held a Facebook competition on the Apollo Teaching Services’ Facebook page. We gave away four fantastic prizes including an Italian Dining Experience for Two and a £50 Amazon gift voucher. In order to enter all you had to do was answer one of our fun quiz questions.
From guessing the combined age of our managers, to counting balloons, it was fantastic to have so many interactions from our Facebook followers and friends, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part. We had some very happy winners too!
To keep up to date with our events and competitions over the next year, make sure you follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We never slow down at Apollo Teaching Services, and over the Summer we continued to update our Pinterest Boards with lots of ideas for you to take into the classroom, in your lunchbox or even have a go at in the house.
You can check out our Pinterest page here.
We held several successful registration days and evenings across our South Wales and Reading offices over the Summer. If you didn’t manage to make it in to meet us but you’d still like to find out more about joining the Apollo team, it’s never too late!
Send us a message and we’ll be happy to book you in to an appointment with one of our Consultants in your local office.
If you’ve got anything coming up in your school that you’d like to tell us about please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
