Apollo Teaching Services attended the Young Achiever Awards last week and what a night it was! Hearing all the inspirational stories from each individual was incredibly touching and we felt very privileged to have sponsored the ‘Outstanding Academic Progress’ award for another year.
We would like to take a moment to say a huge congratulations to Megan, the winner of our category ‘Outstanding Academic Progress’. Here is a little about Megan:
At 14 Megan was diagnosed with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome and Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder. This means she faces significant disruptions to her education due to being majorly unwell and requiring numerous hospital admissions from persistent seizures. This led to attending the PRU and then homeschooling, combined with an involuntary transition from Welsh medium to English medium schooling in her final GCSE year. Earlier this year Megan achieved brilliant A-level results (including an A* in Law!) and is now at Cardiff Met University, studying BSc physical education and sports studies through the medium of Welsh.
Apollo would like to congratulate each and every finalist – you’re all winners in our eyes!
